Privacy Policy

What we collect on wisegodman.com, why, and what you can do about it.

This is a plain-language summary written to be clear, not a substitute for professional legal advice. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer, and it doesn't attempt to cover every regional privacy law (like GDPR or CCPA) in full. If visitors from the EU, UK, or California are a meaningful part of your audience, have this reviewed against those specific requirements before treating it as final.

1. Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy covers wisegodman.com (the "Site"), operated by Wisegodman ("we," "us," "our"). It explains what information we collect when you browse, sign in, buy something, or play WiseGo Prediction, and what we do with it.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google or Spotify, we receive and store your email address, display name, profile picture, and a provider account ID — enough to identify you and show your account. We never see or store your Google or Spotify password.

OAuth tokens

We store your Google/Spotify access and refresh tokens securely on our server, used only to check — at your request — whether you've subscribed, followed, or saved a track, so we can award Gold Points. We don't use these tokens for anything else, and they're never shared with anyone outside the verification call itself.

Gold Points & predictions

We keep a record of your Gold Points balance, how you earned each point, and which WiseGo Prediction questions you've staked on and how — this is what powers your dashboard and the leaderboard.

Order information

If you buy something from the Store, we collect your name, email, shipping address, and order details (items, quantities, prices) to fulfill and ship your order. Your payment itself — card number, PayPal login, etc. — is handled entirely by PayPal; it never reaches our servers.

Inquiry forms

If you submit a form on the Services page (collaboration, label registration, dedications) or sign up for release notifications, we collect whatever you enter — typically your name, email, and message — so we can respond.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies: one to keep you signed in (httpOnly and secure, so scripts can't read it) and a short-lived one during sign-in to protect against cross-site request forgery. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Technical data

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs standard technical information such as IP address and browser type for security and performance purposes. We don't use this to build advertising profiles.

3. How we use this information

  • To create and maintain your account, and keep you signed in
  • To process, fulfill, and ship Store orders, and to contact you about them
  • To verify Gold Points actions and keep WiseGo Prediction and the leaderboard fair
  • To respond to inquiries submitted through the Services page
  • To keep the Site secure and prevent fraud or abuse (like multi-accounting)
  • To notify winners of seasonal WiseGo Prediction rewards

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share information with

We share only what's necessary to run the Site, with these categories of service providers, each under their own privacy policy:

  • Printful — receives your name, shipping address, and order items to manufacture and ship Store orders
  • PayPal — processes payment directly; we receive confirmation of payment, never your payment details
  • Google & Spotify — used to sign you in and, with your account connected, to check subscribe/follow/track-save status for Gold Points
  • Cloudflare — our hosting and infrastructure provider, which processes data as part of serving the Site

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Wisegodman or others.

5. How long we keep information

We keep account, points, and order information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for records like order history and fraud prevention. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — see below.

6. Your choices & rights

You can:

  • Sign out at any time, and disconnect Google/Spotify access from your Google or Spotify account settings directly
  • Ask us what personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal data, subject to what we need to keep for legal or order-record purposes

7. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical measures (like secure, httpOnly session cookies and server-side-only OAuth tokens) to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do — check back occasionally if you want to stay current.
